Transforming lives by building hope.
Hope Builders Outreach is a charity founded in 2024 with its roots beginning in 2017 when leaders began constructing homes in Honduras with other organizations. We believe that building hope is a crucial step in transforming lives. We strive to address the underlying causes of poverty and equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Our Mission
Hope Builders Outreach uplifts and empowers poverty-stricken individuals and communities through tangible improvements such as housing, education, and resources to help them break free from the cycle of poverty.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create lasting impacts for families in Honduras and beyond through compassionate support, collaborative partnerships, and a network of volunteers.
What’s in a home?
The security of a well-built home eliminates a major hurdle of hardship and gives hope for a better future. A home can act as the catalyst for immediate transformation out of poverty. This broadens opportunities for families and opens the door for children to obtain an education.
Addressing the underlying causes of poverty and fostering sustainable change in the lives of poor families will provide them with more equitable and just opportunities.
Why Central America?
While working closely with organizations in Honduras we deepened relationships with families living there. They opened our eyes to the external obstacles preventing people from overcoming poverty:
Central American families do not have access to the government-sponsored safety nets that we have, such as housing assistance, food stamp programs, utility assistance, and more.
A lack of English language learning opportunities for children and adults limits them from career paths that could lead them out of poverty.
As a consumer, the United States fuels the demand for industries in Central America that take advantage of poverty-stricken individuals and child labor (e.g., coffee, drugs, human trafficking).
Our Leadership
Mike Prezioso, Executive Director
“During my eight years partnering with organizations to build houses in Honduras, we’ve built relationships with families, made friends we consider extended families, and became familiar with the obstacles facing those living in poverty-stricken areas. We’ve also seen amazing transformational changes in the living conditions for over 200 families. Many deserving families in Central America work a lifetime to provide better conditions for their families. However, providing basic necessities such as food and water outpace the family’s financial means to construct a decent home. We hope that together we can be the difference in ending generational poverty and spread hope for a brighter future.”
